Explore the region
At the heart of Central Otago wine country, Gibbston Valley is close to some of Queenstown's most iconic landmarks and activities.
Take your pick of activities here on site: a private dinner in our underground wine cellar, cheese & wine tastings, tour our working winery or explore NZ's largest wine cave - lined with French oak barrels of ageing Pinot Noir & Chardonnay. Cycling the local trails will have you weaving through vineyards and cruising alongside the Kawarau River, otherwise known as the River Anduin and site of the Pillars of the Kings (the Argonath) in The Lord of the Rings movies. Find out more and book an experience.
For those who would like to venture further afield, we can arrange transportation to any Queenstown or Arrowtown activity. Hiking, jet boating, the Otago Central Rail Trail, scenic helicopter flights over the Remarkables and luxury cruises on Lake Whakatipu are all excellent ways to spend the day. Our Concierge team will reach out before your arrival to assist in creating your itinerary, but if you would like to start planning your activities earlier, please email us at lodge@gibbstonvalley.com.
